Don’t miss PPM Systems at the Three Counties Defence and Security Expo

See us on stands 101 and 102!

3 Counties Defence and Security Expo (3CDSE) 2017PPM Systems will be exhibiting highly advanced military-grade products, such as the Rodent 4 remote antenna platform, at the Three Counties Defence & Security Expo (3CDSE) this May.

The Rodent 4 represents cutting-edge technology that provides a convenient way to deploy Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) antennas over hundreds of metres, allowing military personnel to remain at a safe distance from the targeted zone.

Further PPM Systems products being showcased include:

  • Antennas for electronic warfare, jamming and surveillance, military comms, military satcom and more
  • Software defined radio scanning and decoding systems
  • ViaLite RF over fibre systems for the military
  • RF filters.

3CDSE is held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern and is the region’s leading expo for defence and security. The event’s core premise is to provide a platform for military, suppliers and security agencies to identify common interests, solutions and opportunities. If your business relates to any of these categories, 3CDSE is an event not to be missed.

The PPM Systems team will be there to build mutually-beneficial business relationships in an enthusiastic environment, with PPM Systems products on display to bring ideas to life.

PPM Systems to Showcase RF over Fibre at DSEI

PPM Systems will be exhibiting at this year’s Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) trade show.

PPM Systems field deployable RF-over-fibre system and remote antenna optical platformOn display will be the UK company’s military RF over fibre system, which provides a way to deploy SIGINT antennas remotely, allowing personnel to remain a safe distance away. The optical transmission ensures immunity to interference from local RF sources.

Also featuring on the PPM Systems stand will be a range of magnetic and electric field antennas, the MAC Cellular Survey SDRx System and ViaLite’s commercial RF over fibre system.

PPM Systems specialises in military RF over fibre systems and custom RF design. Among its wide range of products are antennas and antenna systems for EW, SIGINT and comms; RF filtering and signal conditioning; RF spectrum receivers and signal generators; and RF over fibre radio extension (Forax).

At previous DSEI shows the company has shared a stand with supplier Antenna Research Associates (ARA), but both companies have their own stands this year, due to company growth and increased product ranges to showcase.

DSEI is taking place in ExCeL, London, from 12-15 September 2017 and PPM Systems will be on stand S3-242.

Revolutionising Long-Distance Tactical Radio Communications – HARC-TD

Category: RF over Fibre Radio Extension

The HARC-TD (High Antennas for Radio Communications-Tethered Drone) caused a lot of excitement when its design was first announced. Now it is due to generate more with the announcement that it is available to order from PPM Systems.

A lightweight expeditionary system, the HARC-TD uses an electric drone to provide up to 20 miles (38km) of radio range extension for any UHF Tactical Radio Waveform (225-450 MHz); adding dramatic network and communications range extension. Common waveforms used by tactical communicators in this band are SRW, ANW2 and AM/FM voice. They can be encrypted or clear-text. The HARC-TD system is waveform independent and optimised for network, data and voice communicators, operating equally well with military and civilian radios.

The system uses Lockheed Martin’s proven Indago drone. Electrically powered via its tether, the HARC-TD-50 drone can fly indefinitely, for hours or days, 50m (150ft) above ground level. The drone is small with a low visual profile, quiet, safe to handle and portable. It can fly at density altitudes of up to 3600m (12,0000ft).

The system allows the radio to stay on the ground while the antenna is high overhead. Deployment is simple with the drone rapidly ascending to a user-set altitude where it remains on station.

The Indago drone has been modified for HARC-TD to allow for tethered flight. Ground power to the drone can be universal input AC, including from a generator or DC from a vehicle supply. If power is interrupted, the drone safely descends using its on-board backup battery.

PPM Systems is Syntonics’ UK distributor for all HARC products.
